Edward Yarbrough Obituary

     EDWARD “YARBY” YARBROUGH

December 22, 1955 – January 6, 2024

Edward “Yarby” Yarbrough went to be with God at the age of 68 on January 6, 2024 after a long six month health battle.

Ed married his wife, best friend and travel companion, Andrea M Yarbrough in 2003.  They met and came together later in their lives, but together the worked to build a beautiful life, home and blended family with four children between them.

Ed graduated from Richland High School in 1974.  After graduating, he worked as an auto mechanic until at the age of 32, he joined the United States Navy.  Serving in the Navy and aviation became his passion and led to his civilian career as a Maintenance Instructor for the F-35 and he also worked as a Tech Writer on the Osprey program.

Ed was a very giving man, who would help anyone when he could and never expected anything in return.  He lived the Pay it Forward principle every day.  The guiding forces in his life were the Ten Commandments and the Navy Core Values of honor, courage and commitment.

Ed loved his family dearly and enjoyed any times spent with them.  Family to him was not only blood, he cherished his family of close and dear friends.  He instilled these values into his children and grandchildren whenever he could.  To his eight grandchildren he was “Pappy” and always found ways to make them laugh and created some wonderful memories with them. To his daughter and his bonus sons, he was a mentor, a teacher and a source of wisdom and common sense.

Ed was preceeded in death by his parents, Frank J. Yarbrough and Shirley Ann Yarbrough (Eddy).

Ed is survived by his wife of almost 21 years, Andrea Yarbrough.  He is also survived by his daughter, Michelle Morgan (Jerry Morgan), his “bonus” sons Nicholas Burrell (Jacquelyn Burrel), Kirk Burrell (Kameron Freelan) and Joshua Jacobs (Jessica Jacobs).  He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Tristan, Ethan and Nolan Burrell, Benjamin and Brynn Burrell and Gabriel, Scarlett and Colton Jacobs.

Ed also is survived by his brothers Brian Yarbough (Lisa Yarbrough), Kenneth Yarbrough (Tina Yarbrough) and Jeffrey Yarbrough, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Edward “Yarby” Yarbrough was a warm, genuine, real and entertaining man who touched many lives in his 68 years on this earth.  He will be missed so very much by his family and friends.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at the DFW National Cemetery on Friday March 1, 2024 at 11 am.  A Celebration of Life will follow at Ed and Andrea’s home.  In lieu of flowers, we would like donations made in Ed’s name to the Tunnel2Towers Foundation.  This was Ed’s favorite charity and he was very passionate about the work that they do.

Warmly the family of Edward “Yarby” Yarbrough
