In Loving Memory of Vickie Pauline Bruce
1951 - 2023
Vickie Pauline Bruce, born on March 24, 1951, in Hutchinson, Texas, peacefully passed away on November 23, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of Victor Raymond Chamblee and Minnie Pauline Rozell-Chamblee.
A dedicated registered nurse, Vickie devoted over two decades to JPS Hospital and eight years to Cook Children's Hospital, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her commitment to the well-being of others extended beyond the hospital walls as she actively engaged in charity work for underprivileged children, crafting clothes for them alongside her church community.
Vickie's intelligence and passion for learning shone through her love for studying Hebrew. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering, and she found joy in the simple pleasures, particularly enjoying Hallmark network television programs.
Known for her industrious spirit, Vickie found solace in hard work, yet she also embraced the joy of online shopping, a hobby she cultivated through Amazon. As her career allowed more time for personal moments, she cherished reminiscing with her family.
Vickie is survived by her loving daughters, Michelle Whitlock, and son-in-law Charles, and her daughter, Melissa Bruce, and fiancé Travis Lackey. She leaves behind a legacy through her 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Wendell Chamblee, two nephews, and numerous friends and extended family.
Vickie is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Minnie Chamblee, and her husband, Russell Bruce. In honoring her memory, let us celebrate the life of a compassionate, hardworking, and loving woman who touched the hearts of many.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery beginning at 10:00 AM.
