Betty Narvaiz Garcia 
1946 ~ 2018

Betty Narvaiz Garcia went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas. Betty was born to her parents, Bonifacio Narvaiz and Betty Zapata in Fort Worth, Texas on August 8, 1946.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, madrina and friend to many, went home to be with Jesus and other family, she was 72 years old. Betty was a lady of many talents, from food service at El Chico, to finance, to manager of a lamp company, to hotel service and finally a private duty nurse. She was devoted to her family in many ways from lending an ear, to a big hug and always stern advice. She loved music and dancing, she was an amazing cook, her specialty was enchiladas and tamales. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas and New Year’s Eve, she always said with New Year’s you get a new start!

Betty is survived by her children, Manuel “Manny” Govea III, Yvonne Annette Govea Stringer, Cynthia Ann Govea, Martha Angelica Garcia, and Elizabeth “Lisa” Silva Jimenez; her sisters, Mary Arredondo, Teresa Medina Luna, and Kathrine Luna, her grandchildren, Marc Govea, Paul Canales, Patrisha Canales, Elainna Canales, Miguel Rodriguez, Celestina Rodriguez, Adriana Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez Jr., and Tiffany Marie Jimenez; along with fourteen great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bonifacio Narvaiz, Betty Zapata Narvaiz; her brothers, Joe Sotelo, Harold Narvaiz, and Barney Narvaiz; her sisters, Irene Arteaga and Jessie Narvaiz.

 A visitation will be held on August 20, 2018 from 10am to 2pm at Roberts Family Funeral Home located at 5025 Jacksboro Hwy Fort Worth, Texas 76114. A reception will follow immediately after the visitation from 2pm to 4pm at Roberts Family Funeral Home.
