Alejandro Garcia Torres
1935 - 2018
On Saturday, May 5, 2018, Alejandro Torres, passed away from natural causes, at the age of 82 years Alejandro was born in Lytle, Texas on May 12, 1935 to his parents, Jesus Ortiz Torres and Felipa Garcia-Torres.
Alejandro was a Texas native who enlisted in the USMC in 1953, and is a veteran of the Korean war. He received accommodations that included; United Nations Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Service Defense Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Alejandro was honorably discharged in 1956. He enjoyed spending time golfing, fishing and reading. He loved to travel to wherever his grand-babies where at and spend time with his family making cherished memories. Alejandro will be remembered as a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend.
Though our hearts are saddened by our loss we are comforted by our knowledge of Heaven's newest angel.
Alejandro will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Elma Bowie-Torres; his children, Tommy, Tony, Stella, Linda and husband Ray Lesus, Gilbert and wife Sandy Torres; his grandchildren, Amy and husband Chris Thornton, Kayla, Juliana, Gilbert Jr., Shayla, Hondo, Dominic, Monica and husband Jacob Quintana, Judi and husband Michael Kostro, Melissa and Alex; his great-grandchildren, Mauricio, Armora, Mason, Estelle, Aubrey, Bella, Michael, Melanie; his brothers, Ralph, Jesse, and Bob; his sisters, Molly, Lolly, and Ora; along with many other loving family members and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Felipa Torres; his brother Gilbert Torres; his sisters, Mary Del Toro and Lenor Torres.
There will be a viewing to celebrate the life and memory of Alejandro on Thursday, May 17, from 9:30-11:30 a.m at Azleland Memorial Chapel located at 850 N. Cardinal Road Azle, Tx. 76020
Funeral ceremonies will be held immediately following at Azleland cemetery. A committal with Military Honors to be held at 2:30 p.m at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy Dallas, TX 75211.
