Andres G. Garza, Jr. (1947-2015) Andres G. Garza, Jr., 68, beloved father, husband, and brother, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass: 10 AM Friday, August 28th at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Internment: Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary: 6:00 PM, Thursday, at Roberts Family Affordable Funeral Home. Andres was born in Asherton, Texas, preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Petra Garza. He was the first of two hispanics to retire from the Fort Worth Fire Department in September of 2001. He will always be remembered for his passion for music, thirst for knowledge, and interest in politics. Survived by his loving sister, Sylvia, from San Antonio, Texas; his wife, Maria Isabel; his daughters, Laura McSkimming, Lorena Garza-Waits (Brandon), and Alicia Garza; son, Andres Gabriel Garza, and paternal figure to Mark and Sheri Sosa, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
