Billie Jo Tipton March 26, 1943 ~ February 14, 2018 Billie Jo Tipton was called to be with her Lord and Savior on February 14, 2018. Billie Jo was born in Ada, Oklahoma on March 26, 1943 to her parents, Ray Ellsworth Tipton and Jo Lee Brumley-Tipton. Billie Jo grew up in Ada, Oklahoma. As a young lady, she enjoyed all school activities, including her favorite subject, Home Economics. She was involved in various after-school activities such as, ballet, photography club, tap dancing and voice lessons. She won the "Miss Junior High" award and the "Miss ADA" contest. She modeled for movie ads and had an opportunity to model for the first color T.V. commercial for Pendleton clothes. Billie Jo attended East Central University and received a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education. Billie Jo also obtained a Masters of Psychology and Counseling. She then went on to receive her credentials from the University of Central State for Administration and a certificate for Principal and Superintendent. Billie Jo taught Home Economics for 9 years at Chickasha Junior High, and was elected to public office. Upon moving to California, she became the Vice-Chair of the Housing Commission in Oceanside. Billie Jo moved on to social work for the County of Los Angeles and was a Union Representative. Billie Jo was very generous with her time and nothing made her happier than to shower others with gifts. She always had a story to tell and loved to make you laugh with her as she expertly had the perfect punchline every time. Billie Jo was a very stylish and classy lady, who loved to shop and always dressed to perfection even if she wasn't going out but simply staying home. She was very creative and talented which was reflected in her beautiful scrapbooks, sewing and baking. She doted on her favorite dogs, Snowball and Weasel, dressing them up for every holiday and special occasion. She loved her family unconditionally. She will be dearly missed, but her laughter and love will be in our hearts forever. Billie Jo is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth Roberts-Nabors and husband John; her son, Monty Bryan Roberts and wife Brenda; her grandsons, Bryan Nabors, Bo Roberts and wife Janelly, Jeremy Thomas, Jared Thomas and Erin Martin; her great-granddaughter, Taylor Thomas; her brother, Virgil Tipton and wife Penny; her nephew, Chad Shelton; her niece, Nicki Watkins; her great-nephew, Zane Watkins; along with many other loving family members and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Jo Lee Tipton.
