Obituary

In Loving Memory of Carol Sue Roper April 9, 1959 – February 14, 2025 With hearts full of sorrow, yet overflowing with gratitude for the beautiful life she lived, we announce the passing of Carol Sue Roper, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Carol departed this world on February 14, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, embraced by the love of those who held her dear. She was 65 years old. Carol was born on April 9, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to William Tilden Dobbins and Dorothy Jean Hendricks. From the very beginning, she carried within her a warmth and generosity that would define her throughout her life. She dedicated herself not only to her family but also to the well-being of others, living by the belief that kindness and compassion were among the greatest gifts one could offer. A woman of deep faith, Carol found great strength in her relationship with God. She was a devoted member of Water of Life Church in Fort Worth, Texas, where she nurtured her spirit and served as a beacon of love and encouragement to those around her. Her faith was not just something she spoke of—it was something she lived, evident in her selfless acts of charity. She had a heart for the less fortunate, often donating food and clothing to the homeless, always seeking to ease the burdens of those in need. Carol's joy was found in life's simple pleasures. She had a deep love for the beauty of the outdoors, whether she was tending to her garden, walking in nature, or setting up camp beneath the open sky. She believed in the peace and renewal that came from the earth's embrace, and she found solace in its quiet wonders. Creativity was another thread woven through Carol's life. She had a talent for drawing, capturing the world through her own artistic lens. She also had a passion for poetry, often finding the perfect words to express her heart. Her love of storytelling made her a treasured presence among family and friends—she could turn even the simplest conversation into something meaningful, making those around her feel heard, cherished, and understood. Carol found great joy in the little things: the soulful twang of a country song, the comfort of a familiar television show, and the excitement of following the adventures of her favorite Hawaii Five-0 character, Steve McGarrett. No matter what life threw her way, she held onto the things that brought her happiness. Above all else, Carol's greatest love was for her family. She poured her heart into them, offering unwavering support, wisdom, and laughter. She is survived by her devoted significant other, Mike Massey, who stood by her side with love and loyalty. She also leaves behind her cherished fur baby, Bam Bam Roper, who brought her endless joy. Her legacy lives on through her beloved children: Belinda Whitaker and her husband Randy, Brandi Barton, and Chris Roper. Her love extends to her treasured grandchildren: Lanee and Fredy Pacheco, Ryan Whitaker, Kelsey Whitehead, Hailey Barton, Zane Ellis, Dustin Ellis Jr., Gauge Blevins, and Savannah Whitaker. Carol's presence will also be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren: Angeline Whitaker, Olivia Pacheco, Aubriella Pacheco, and Fredy Pacheco. She is also survived by her loving brother, Robert Dobbins, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Carol Sue Roper was a woman of kindness, resilience, and boundless love. She left this world a little brighter, a little warmer, and a little more beautiful simply by being in it. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her spirit remains with us, whispering through the rustling leaves, blooming in the flowers she once tended, and shining in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her light will never fade. Her love will never be forgotten. Rest peacefully, dear Carol.
