Obituary

Charles Edward "Chuck" Blanton 1935-2018 Charles Edward "Chuck" Blanton 82 of Lake Granbury, TX moved to his Heavenly Home May 14, 2018. Chuck was born in San Angelo, TX December 15,1935 to Lavada & Wylie Frank Blanton. He served as a Corporal in the Marines fighting in The Korean War. He claimed to be a year older to join the Marines, so he could fight for his Country. After returning home to San Angelo, he married his young bride, Brenda Hill on May 25, 1957. They were just 11 days shy of celebrating 61 years of marriage. Chuck is survived by his wife, Brenda of Granbury & their fur baby, Precious. Three sons, Eddie Blanton & his wife, Tammy of Granbury, Randy Blanton & wife, Rhonda of Abilene, TX & Ronnie Blanton of Granbury. Chuck has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Brenda & Chuck lived in several cities over the years but spent many in Lampasas, TX raising their family. Chuck was a General Contractor most of his adult life, even while battling cancer. He was a tough, hard working man that was adored by many. He was a man of his word & took pride in everything he did. He was still working just a few days before passing. Chuck loved to entertain & was known for his legendary Bar-B-Que, Carne Guisada & Enchildas. He found pleasure in feeding people great food & sending them home with lots of leftovers, full bellies & smiles on their faces. Chuck adored his family & loved "The Man Upstairs." He had a strong Faith & was a member of The Triple Cross Cowboy Church in Granbury. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Wylie Blanton, Carl & Lavada Hill, sister, Janet Earnest & grandson, Casey Blanton. The family is honoring Chuck's wishes to not have a formal service. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Hospital, The Salvation Army or any charity benefitting children or animals.
