Obituary

In Loving Memory of Darwin Thoms Watson Jr.

1931 - 2024

Darwin Thomas Watson Jr., passed away on May 8, 2024, at the age of 93. He was born March 7, 1931, in Ft. Worth, Texas to Darwin Watson and Freda Eaton.

Darwin's life was marked by love, service, and a deep-rooted Christian faith. He was a devoted family man and a dedicated servant of his country and community. On August 4, 1951, he married Kathryn Stewardson, beginning a journey of companionship and devotion that lasted over 65 years. He proudly served in the US Army and later contributed 32 years of hard work to the US Postal Service.

His commitment to his faith was evident in his active participation at Haltom Road Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the Texas Baptist Men, dedicating his time and skills to building churches and spreading God's message of love and compassion.

Darwin's greatest legacy is the love he shared with his wife Kathryn and their 5 children. That family grew over the years and at the time of his death; Darwin had 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In honoring Darwin's memory, let us celebrate a life lived with purpose, integrity and a profound love for God and family. He leaves behind a deep tapestry of memories and a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

He has now been reunited with his wife, Kathryn; his parents, Darwin Watson Sr. and Freda Eaton; his sister, LaNettia Walters; and his brother, Wayne Watson; in God's Eternal Kingdom.

Darwin will be deeply and lovingly missed by his 5 children, Patricia Bird, David Watson, Jerry Watson, Shirley Paroulek, and Marsha Silva with all his extended family; his church family, and many friends.
