In Loving Memory of David Lee Geer

1959 - 2023

David Lee Geer, born on April 7, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, left us on December 13, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. The son of Joseph Geer and Hattie Ivy-Geer, he is survived by his daughter Courtney and her husband, Daniel Gilbert, of Springtown, Texas, his son Skylar Geer of Doral, Florida, and cherished grandchildren Axel and Olivia Gilbert, and Vivianne and Nola Geer. David, a devoted family man, is also remembered by his brothers: Mike Kilgore of Bossier City, Louisiana, Ronald Kilgore and his wife Linda of Mena, Arkansas, Wayne Geer and his wife Angela of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Charles Geer of Shreveport, Louisiana. Passionate about life, David had a love for fishing, cooking, and watching sports. His dedication extended to coaching, where he amassed 30+ years of experience in basketball and education. A decorated coach, he earned the title of Coach of the Year eight times, an All-Star Coach on four occasions, and led his teams to the state playoffs for an impressive 15 years. Under his guidance, his teams reached the state semi-finals twice. David Geer held a master's degree in education and made a lasting impact on the lives of those he taught and coached. He leaves a legacy of success, mentorship, and sportsmanship. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hattie, a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Roberts and Martinez Funeral Home on December 22 at 2 PM. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
