Floyd Allen Smith 1951 - 2016 Floyd Allen Smith passed away on November 12, 2016 in Decatur, Texas. Floyd was born April 2, 1951 to his parents, Floyd Herbert Smith and Rachel Ada Roush-Smith in Chula Vista, California. Floyd has gone to be with his Lord and Savior in the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven. We honor Floyd's sacrifices to our great Nation as he served in the United States Army and his tour in the Vietnam Conflict. After serving in the military, Floyd worked and later retired after 25 plus years from NASSCO, where he built many of the United States Military vessels. Floyd had many passions. His family meant everything to him. Floyd also enjoyed baseball and called many games from behind the plate as an umpire. Floyd's love for racing flourish at a young age. Floyd would spend many hours working on his cars and racing them at some of the local tracks in Boyd and Kennedale. Once a year, Floyd would go to Abilene and Royce City to test his driving skills. Floyd is survived by his son, Scott Smith and wife Carol; his step-daughter, Rita Meinert; his step-son, Keith Benson and wife Miriam; his brothers, Lyle Smith and David Smith along with many other loving family members and friends. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Rachel Smith and his step-son, Tim Benson. Floyd will be missed and never forgotten. Memorial Services will be held November 19, 2016 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, First Baptist Church, 140 Farm to Market Rd 730 N, Boyd, TX 76023
