Fredric Nelson Carrillo, 51, passed away peacefully in Corpus Christi, TX, on March 30, 2026.
Fred was born in Juneau, Alaska on February 18, 1975, to Nelson and Luzviminda Carrillo. After graduating from Juneau-Douglas High School he followed his older sister to Seattle, WA. For the last twenty years, Fred has called Fort Worth 'home' and recently began a new chapter with family in Corpus Christi, TX.
Fred was known for his humor, quick wit, and bold personality. He had a way of captivating a room when he chose to, often making others laugh with his jokes and playful, sometimes mischievous, spirit. and carried a strong, unforgettable presence throughout his life. He believed strongly in hard work, growth, and education, always encouraging his children, as well as his nephews, to strive for more and be their best. He took pride in his work and had a natural ability to lead, carrying himself with determination and conviction.
He had a deep appreciation for life's simple joys-good food like Dad's tapa and Auntie Emmy's lumpia, classic oldies music, and time spent by the ocean. He was a passionate fan of sports, especially the Oakland Raiders, and loved watching movies. He had an impressive knowledge of trivia and history and was the kind of person you'd want to call if you ever found yourself on Cash Cab.
He often referenced his extraordinary upbringing in Juneau. Surrounded by a village of our Filipino Family, the Juneau community and countless parties at the Filipino Community Hall - a strong foundation of the importance of family was set. He absolutely loved our family gatherings. Above all, Fred loved his children deeply. He spoke of them often and with great pride, never missing a chance to share their accomplishments and the joy they brought him. He will be forever remembered for his smile, love, strength and humor.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernardo and Mary Carrillo, grandfather Ramon So and grandmother Candelaria Reyes Cristobal.
He is survived by his children, Alex, Ashley, William, and Maddox; his parents, Luz and Nelson Carrillo; sisters Luzcille Kidd (Eric) and Freida Goodsell (Jacob); nephews Emil Carrillo, Jalyn Carrillo, Jason Goodsell, and Bryan Goodsell, as well as countless uncles, aunties, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17th, at Roberts Family Funeral Home, located at 4200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, TX, 76117.
