Gavin Keith Tittle, born July 16, 1935, in Clarksville, Texas, to Zack Tittle and Elvis Wilburne Tittle, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 1, 2024, at Alvarado Meadows Nursing Home in Alvarado, Texas. He was 89 years old. Gavin was the youngest of seven children, cherished and lovingly nurtured by his devoted parents. His early life was characterized by close family bonds and a spirit of resilience that would define his character throughout his life. In 1955, Gavin married his beloved wife, Gloria, with whom he shared a remarkable 62 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and mutual support. A dedicated and hardworking individual, Gavin began his professional journey as a police officer, serving several cities with honor and commitment. His career later evolved into a role as a security guard, where his vigilance and dedication continued to shine. Beyond his professional achievements, Gavin was a man of many passions. He had a profound love for the outdoors, particularly fishing, and was an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan. His fondness for western movies and shows reflected his deep appreciation for traditional values and storytelling. Gavin's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He enjoyed engaging in thoughtful conversations with his son about spirituality and the mysteries of existence, finding solace and purpose in these discussions. His kind-hearted nature extended to his interactions with others; he delighted in sharing his memories and experiences with visitors, always eager to connect and reminisce. Gavin is survived by his daughter, Becky DeWeerd and her husband Jim of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his son, Mike Tittle and his girlfriend Rose of Bedford, Texas; his son, Don Tittle and his wife Susan of Alvarado, Texas; and his daughter Teresa Smith and her husband Robert Thompson of El Reno, Oklahoma. He was a proud and adoring grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather to numerous descendants who were blessed to have known his love and warmth. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria, his son Steve Tittle, his parents, and his siblings Wayne, Randle, Darrell, Corky, Herschel, and Donald Gene. A funeral service to honor Gavin's life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Roberts Martinez Funeral Chapel in Haltom City, Texas. His burial will be a private service at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas. Gavin Keith Tittle will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his profound faith. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched and the memories he created.
