GENE ROY TREXLER Nov 8, 1940 - Jan 8, 2018 Gene Roy Trexler, age 77, of Hurst, Texas, passed away on Monday January 8, 2018. Gene was born in Bodcaw, Arkansas, November 8, 1940 to James and Minna Lee (Gathright) Trexler. Throughout his life Gene worked hard building successful businesses in Lubbock and Arlington, Texas in the auto industry including car dealerships, paint and body, auto repair and auto salvage. Gene enjoyed spending time with family and friends laughing and sharing stories. Gene's favorite Bible story was Jesus feeding the multitudes in John 6: 1-14. It is so appropriate that he chose this story as one of his favorites because Gene had such a compassionate heart for those in need, and was always known to offer help to those who were down. One of Gene's strongest characteristics was his sense of humor. He had an amazing ability to find humor in situations and the gift of making people laugh wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his wife Lori McCandless-Trexler, his brother James (Jim) Trexler and his parents. He is survived by his daughters Debbie Trexler-Wallace of Hurst Texas and Dena Carpenter of New Palestine Indiana; son-in-law's Robert Wallace and John Carpenter; granddaughters Morgan Carpenter, Madison Carpenter, and Jordan Wallace; niece Belinda Davis-Trexler of Decatur, Alabama; nephew Brian Trexler of Eden, Texas.
