Gilbert "Gil" Wayne Britton 1936-2015 Gilbert "Gil" Wayne Britton was born in Grandfield, Oklahoma on May 17, 1936 and returned to the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on May 7, 2015 in Azle, Texas. He met and later married his loving wife, Martha, in Weatherford, Texas on July 7, 1982. Gil raised, showed, and loved his English Bulldogs. His favorite was his AKC Regional champion show dog, Duke. He owned and operated Britton Kennels in Azle, Texas for approximately twenty years. Gil loved to drive tractors, weld, and could build just about anything. He single handedly built the kennel. Gil is survived by his wife, Martha, his sons, Monty Britton, and Marty Britton, and Marty's wife, Rhonda, his step-daughters, Debbie Lankford, and Diana Jones, and Diana's husband, Tony, his stepson, Don Wolfe, his grandchildren, Jennifer Baumann, and Jennifer's husband, Dean, Jessica Lankford, Avalon Wolfe, Tyler Jones, Brendon Walles, and Cody Britton, his great-grandchildren, Chris Lankford and Kayla Baumann, and his sisters, Rheba Brush, Sarah Price, and Susan Nicholson, as well as other family and countless friends. Gil is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Delia Britton, and brothers Darrell and Raymond Britton. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015, from 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Roberts Family Affordable Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Azleland Memorial Park under the direction of Roberts Family Affordable Funeral Home. Gil will be truly missed, but never forgotten, as we will always hold him dearly in our hearts.
