Gilbert Gomez Franco Sr.

1938 - 2022

Gilbert Gomez Franco Sr. born June 20th, 1938, to his father, Porfirio Franco Sr., and his mother, Hermerejilda Gomez Franco. Gilbert was an excellent provider and loving father of seven children, twenty-seven grandchildren and forty-eight great grandchildren, as well as two great-great grandchildren. Gilbert was a very hardworking man who cared for the Lord as well as others. Gilbert was an animal lover who lived a simple but full life. Gilbert was a humble Catholic Christian who could spark a conversation with anyone over any topic while having a cup of coffee. Gilbert enjoyed working at St. Thomas as a caretaker, he believes this helped him on his journey with his children and Lord. Gilbert loved traveling, watching waterfalls, spending time with his grandchildren, and gambling.

Gilbert has been reunited with his father, Porfirio Franco Sr., his mother, Hermerejilda Gomez Franco, and his three brothers Miguel Franco, Porfirio Franco Jr., and Eugene Franco. Gilbert is survived by his two brothers Guillermo Franco and Angel Franco, and his younger sister Estella Franco. Gilbert also left behind the mother of his children Olivia Munoz Cuellar, his daughter Elizabeth Franco-Casteneda and her husband Margarito Casteneda, along with their five children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; his son Gilbert Jr. and his wife Lisa Franco, along with their three children and six grandchildren; his son Miguel and his wife Donna Franco, along with their two children and four grandchildren; his son Jesus and his wife Mary Franco, along with their six children and twelve grandchildren; his son John Paul and his wife Chevelle Franco, along with their eight children and eight grandchildren; his son Angel Franco and his daughter; and his son Manuel and wife Bonnie Franco, along with their four children and nine grandchildren.
