In Loving Memory of Ira "Sonny" Irwin Stull
1942 - 2025
Sonny Stull, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 82.
Born on October 9, 1942, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to Ira and Alice Stull, Sonny lived a full and meaningful life marked by service, friendship, and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, 3 months, and 23 days before retiring with honor. His time in the military shaped his sense of duty, discipline, and camaraderie—qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
After his military service, Sonny continued to enjoy life with gusto. He found joy in fishing, taking road trips, relaxing at the bar with a good drink, and lighting up a favorite cigar. He had a special love for game shows—especially Family Feud with Steve Harvey—and western movies that reminded him of old-fashioned values and rugged adventures.
Sonny was never without good company. He shared countless laughs and unforgettable moments with his closest friends Doyle Hooks (affectionately known as "Dr. Spook") and Ron Herbert. Their bond was a testament to Sonny's loyalty and generous spirit.
To those who knew him, Sonny was a good man—steadfast, funny, and kind. His family remembers him as a source of strength and love, someone who brought warmth and light into their lives.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Stull, and his daughters: Ana Stull, Alicia Stull, Susie Richardson, and Maria Stull. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Tim Flores, Martin Martinez, Dylan Richardson, Gloria Werle, and Justin Stull, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Sonny is also survived by his sister Cathy Coffey and a large extended family and circle of friends who will miss him dearly.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Alice Stull; his brothers, John and Mike Stull; and his late wife, Maria Stull.
A visitation for Sonny will be held on Friday, May 30th, at 9:00 AM at Roberts-Martinez Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM at 4200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, Texas 76117. A committal service with military honors will be held at a later date at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Further details will be announced.
