James Issac Simmons

James Issac Simmons went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2017. James was born in Longview, Texas on August 9, 1941 to his parents, Mack Eldridge Simmons and Doris Mae Black.
James grew up in Smackover, Arkansas. James' pride of his home town earned him the nick name, "Smacks." When James was a young man he served in the United States Air Force for eight years during Vietnam. James was an active member of La Junta Baptist Church. He enjoyed biking, wood-working, garden and a skilled carpenter. James was always there when you needed him and he loved his family.
Though our hearts are deeply saddened by our loss of this wonderful man we rejoice his new beginning in the kingdom of Heaven.
James is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Simmons; his son, Sean Michael Simmons and wife Jackie; his daughters, Kathy Simmons Chapski and husband John, Patty Hicks and husband Tom, Carol Gillian and husband Ray; his grandchildren, Justin Simmons, Graham Chapski, Lauren Chapski, Matthew Hicks and wife Jessica, Jarrett Hicks, John Gillian; his great-grandchildren, Emma Hicks, Bryce Hicks; his sisters, Janis Smith, Sandra Richardson, Diane Roberson and husband Joe, numerous nieces and nephews along with many other loving family members and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Doris Simmons, and his first wife, Judith Simmons.
