Obituary

Jose Badillo

1924 - 2020

Jose Dillard Badillo, beloved husband and father, earned his wings on December 12, 2020.

Jose (AKA Joe) was born on February 20, 1924 in Charlotte, Texas to the late Jose Badillo and Gertrudis Dillard.  He was raised in San Antonio along with his five sisters and two brothers who he reunites with in Heaven.  Joe was an outstanding musician and had a gift for playing the guitar and drums, as well as singing.  His passion for music never dimmed, as recently as two months ago, Joe decided to host a concert in his bedroom.

In 1951, he moved to West Texas where he met the love of his life, Margarita Moralez.  He knew it was true love and had no hesitation on making their marriage official in 1952.  Together, they raised two sons and six daughters.  After 59 beautiful years of marriage, Margarita was called home, but Joe's love stayed true throughout his time.

Joe enjoyed life to the fullest.  He was a sharp dress especially when it came to his Stacey Adams shoes.  Joe had a great sense of humor and would tell story after story that brought his family great joy.  In 1973, he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior.  This led him to serve the Lord through the Music Ministry for many years, his Bass guitar was his main instrument.  Joe retired from HB Zachary in 1980, but after three months he returned to work for Lewis Label, where he later officially retired from in 1990.

Above all, Joe adored his family and cherished the time he spent with them.

He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his sons, Joe Badillo Jr III (Joann) of Springtown and Danny Badillo (Rose) of Fort Worth; daughters, Irene Sanchez (Mario) of Fort Worth, Viola Rosales (Noe) of Benbrook, Rose Reyes (Adolph) of Boyd, Alma Esquivel (Eddie) of Lake Worth, and Belinda Newton (Keenan) of Fort Worth; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of loving extended family all of whom were grateful for every year, day, and minute they were blessed to enjoy with their father, grandfather, and friend.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 beginning at 12:00PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00PM

Interment at MT Olivet Cemetery
