Joseph John Barget Jr. December 30, 1945 - July 5, 2025

Joseph John James Bargét, Jr. of Haltom City, Texas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on December 30, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York.

Joe lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Navy, where he exemplified the values of honor and commitment. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of discipline and resilience that he carried throughout his life. After his service, he started a family and moved to Texas, where he worked as a Millwright, dedicating many years to his craft and earning the respect of his colleagues and community.

He was known for his sense of humor, smile, and his unwavering support for those he loved. He loved sharing stories, especially from his youth in Brooklyn and was always imparting important life lessons to his family. He was proud of his northeastern heritage and instilled this pride in his children. He was also an excellent handyman and passed his knowledge and know-how of fixing things to his family. Joe's love for his family and friends was genuine, and he will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Preceding Joe in death are his father, Joseph John Bargét Sr., his mother, Mary Ascuitto Bargét, and step-daughter, Sonya Carrillo.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Bargét of Haltom City, Texas; his sister, Judy Potenza and husband, Frank of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey; son, Moses Bargét and his wife, Aimee of Burleson, Texas; son, Joseph Bargét and his wife, Heather of Arlington, Texas; daughter, Brooklyn Bargét of Bedford, Texas; son, Fielding Bargét of Bedford, Texas; and their mother, Rita Bargét of Bedford, Texas; step-daughters, Elizabeth Carrillo of Haltom City, Texas and Tasha Carrillo McLaurin of Parkton, North Carolina; grandchildren, Elijah, Reagan, Preston Reid, Samuel, Joseph Caleb, Ezra, Titus, and Apollos Bargét; step-grandchildren, Morgan, Joshua, Madison, Maiya, Andrew, Donnie, Michael; step-great-grandson, Eden; and cousin, James "Jimmy" Sloven of Brooklyn, New York.

He will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery on July 23, 2025.
