IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Kirkwood
Cater
February 1, 1948 – September 29, 2025
Joseph Cater, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue for generations. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, three sisters, as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who cherished him deeply. Joseph's patience and love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. His greatest joy in life came from his family—whether he was offering words of wisdom, sharing a laugh, or simply being present, he made everyone feel valued and loved. Beyond his devotion to family, Joseph lived with an infectious spirit. He had a lifelong love of Boston sports, proudly cheering on his New England Patriots and Boston Celtics through every season. His passion for music was just as strong. He loved James Brown and Motown, and up until recently, he could still do the famous James Brown split with the best of them—always leaving his family in awe and with smiles on their faces. He now joins in heaven the love of his life, Linda, along with three sisters, his parents, and many loved ones who went before him. The reunion with them brings peace to those who remain, knowing he is surrounded by joy, laughter, and eternal love once more. Joseph's life was defined by resilience, kindness, and devotion. He was a man who inspired laughter, spread love, and left an unforgettable mark on every person blessed to know him. His legacy will live on through his family, his friends, and the countless memories of his warmth, humor, and unwavering love. His favorite saying was, "He lived the life he loved and loved the life he lived,"—a reflection of the way he truly embraced every moment with joy, strength, and gratitude. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Roberts-Martinez Family Funeral Home, 4200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, TX 76117.
