Joseph Benjaman Morris
1941 - 2025
Joseph (Joe) Benjaman Morris, 84, resident of Fort Worth, Texas and husband of Jenness B. Morris for 53 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 29, 2025 at his place of residence.
Joe was born on June 17, 1941 in Blacksburg, SC to W. C. & Jossie Louellse Morris. Due to difficult economic times, at the age of 5, he, along with his brothers, became residents of the Church of God Home for Children in Cleveland, TN and later moved to the Home in Sevierville, TN.
He always talked fondly of the Home and said that it was the best thing that could have ever happened to him. From his early adulthood until his passing, he stayed in touch with his brothers and sisters from the Home and would often talk about cherished memories at their yearly reunions.
After leaving the Home at the age of 18, he joined the United States Air Force and enjoyed playing baseball throughout his time in the military.
Soon after his marriage to Jenness, the two started a fabric and furniture business in Greenville, SC. All American Fabrics became a great success being built from the ground up and was well known in the community. Joe was a skilled upholsterer with a keen eye for detail and excellent work.
Joe was outgoing and had a great sense of humor. He gained many friends throughout the years and enjoyed going out to breakfast and sharing apple butter with all the patrons at the restaurant! One of his favorite things to do was to play the guitar and sing with The Back Porch Band at George's Creek in Easley, SC. Affectionately known as "the gig", you could find him there most Friday nights playing up a storm.
Joe was also an avid golfer and was known for his putting skills.
He is preceded in death by his parents, W. C. & Jossie Louellse Morris as well as his brothers, John & Jim and his sister, Alma. Joe has three wonderful children, Brenda Anderson (Herb Anderson), Lonnie Morris (Mila Morris) & Donna Pineda (Adrian Pineda) and one step-daughter, Leeann Brazier (Brent Brazier). 7 Grandchildren and their respective spouses, and 8 Great-Grandchildren.
