Leah Juanita Sallee
1933-2016
This week, the world lost a wonderful woman. Leah Juanita Sallee was born April 27, 1933 in Winchester, Indiana to her parents William Hendren and Ula Leah Alcestus Jones- Hendren. Leah was one of eight children. Leah married Richard Arlen Salle on March 25, 1950 in Fishersburg, Indiana and together would have nine children. In their forty-four years of marriage, Leah and Richard did a lot of traveling and had many amazing experiences. They also worked very hard, Leah as a waitress and Richard as a truck driver after his years of military service. Leah loved to have her family together around the dinner table laughing and enjoying their time together as well her delicious cooking. Leah will be remembered as a wonderful mother who loved and cherished her family. The most important thing to them was their family, and it showed.
Leah is survived by her son, Rick Plank of North Carolina; her daughter, Leah "Sissy" Story of Fort Worth, Texas; her son, Herschel "Pete" Sallee of Duncanville, Texas; her daughter, Patricia Duncan of North Carolina; her daughter, Juanita "Kay" Day of Arlington, Texas; thirty-nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; her brother, Buck Hendren of Greenfield, Indiana; her brother Vernon Hendren of Texas, her sister, Wilma Stanley of Tennessee; her sister Beverly Brandes of Weatherford, Texas along with many other family members and friends.
Leah is preceded by her parents William and Ula Hendren; her husband, Richard Sallee; her son, David Sallee; her son, Richard Sallee; her daughter, Debra Sue Ann Collins; her son, William Dusty Sallee; her brother, Bill Hendren; her sister, Rebecca Snelson; her sister, Velma Hart. Leah will survive in this world through our memories and will live forever in our hearts.
Services will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 at Azleland Cemetery and Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1pm-2pm. Funeral Services will begin at 2pm.
