In Loving Memory of Lidia Lorine Medellin

1976 - 2024

Lidia Lorine Tijerina-Medellin, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, in her hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. Born on August 8, 1976, Lidia was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth, where she spent her entire life surrounded by family and friends. Lidia grew up in the Fort Worth area, deeply rooted in her community. She graduated from Northside High School, where she first cultivated her love for the arts and poetry, passions that would follow her throughout her life. Her artistic talents found expression in her drawings and sketches, capturing the beauty she saw in the world around her. In her early 30s, Lidia was baptized into the Christian faith, marking the beginning of a profound spiritual journey. Her relationship with the Lord was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and guidance through all of life's challenges. Lidia dedicated much of her life to working as a security guard at a local airport, a role in which she exhibited unwavering dedication and resilience. Her work ethic was driven by a singular purpose: to provide a better life for her children. Lidia's love for her family was boundless, and she tirelessly supported her children in their endeavors, always encouraging them to reach for their dreams. To her children—Victoria Tijerina and her husband Jesus Rangel, Erica Tijerina, Susanna Tijerina, Elizabeth Tijerina, and Angel Tijerina—Lidia was not only a mother but a source of unwavering love and strength. She sang "You Are My Sunshine" to them, a heartfelt reminder of the light and joy they brought into her life. This song became a cherished lullaby that echoed her devotion and tenderness. But it was as a grandmother that Lidia truly shone. She adored her six grandchildren and was their biggest supporter and cheerleader, celebrating their every achievement with pride and joy. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she often remarked that being a grandmother was the greatest gift she could have ever received. The family also wants to make sure and recognize the importance that Kris Crow played in Lidia's life. They are truly grateful for everything that you did to love, share and help their mother these last 4 years. You were her rock and we are grateful. Lidia also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dog, Ebony, whom she cherished as a family member. Ebony was her loyal companion, bringing her immense comfort and joy. She is survived by her loving mother, Elizabeth Pina, who was a pillar of strength and support throughout Lidia's life. Her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, as well as her brothers, Eric Tijerina and Mike Cortez, her sister, Lisa Romero, and a large extended family and circle of friends who will miss her dearly. Lidia was preceded in death by her father, Rito James Tijerina, whose memory she carried with her always. Lidia's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and perseverance. Her legacy of kindness, artistry, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she has left this world, her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved. A visitation to honor Lidia's life will be held at Roberts and Martinez Funeral Home on Thursday, June 13th from 5pm to 8 pm. The family invites everyone that knew and loved Lidia to stop by the funeral home on the 13th and meet and visit with the family to share stories of her and have a chance to say goodbye to this truly special and cherished lady.
