Margarita Rocha Contreras

January 5, 1948 – March 11,2025

Margarita Rocha Contreras passed away at the age of 77 surrounded by her family in Fort Worth, Texas. She battled kidney disease for several years with courage and strength.

Margarita was born on January 5th, 1948, in Abilene, TX to Mr. & Mrs. Rosalio Rocha. She lived a life full of challenges but met each with determination and remarkable strength.

A signal mother to three sons, Israel, Pete, Lee Roy four daughters, Ann Marie, Lisa, Rita, and Annette. Margarita was a woman of resilience and fierce independence. Though life was never easy for her she faced it with an unyielding spirit.

Margarita was a dedicated San Francisco 49ers fan and loved to torment her kids who are Dallas Cowboys fan. She was not a Dallas Cowboy fan at all. Her love for trains and airplanes would bring a smile to her face when she would see them or hear them. She enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to Tejano music, playing pool, arts crafts, and making memories with her family.

Margarita was called Wella and GiGi by her twenty-two grandkids, forty-three great grandkids, and four great great grandkids.   One of her greatest joys was making memories with her grandkids who she loved, spoiled and celebrated their achievements.

Margarita is preceded by her parents, Rosalio Sotelo Rocha and Margarita Rodriquez Rocha. Her Brothers Pedro Rocha, Celestino Rocha, sister Susie Villalobos, and great grandson Jasper Gray Chambers.

She is survived by her seven children, Israel V. Contreras of San Antonio, Pete Jr Contreras of Fort Worth, Lee Roy Contreras of Hurst, Ann Marie & Dewayne Welch of Fort Worth, Lisa Kucker of South Dakota, Rita Contreras-McGee of Abilene, and Annette & Fred Boyd of Haslet. The twenty-two grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Margarita will be having a memorial service, Friday March 21st @ 2:00 PM located at Roberts - Martinez Funeral Home, 4200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, TX 76117.
