Obituary

Myrtle "Fay" Jackson 1923 - 2016 Myrtle Fay Jackson was 93 years old when she passed from this world on May 21, 2016 to be in the presence of her eternal reward, to be with our Lord and Savior. Fay was born in Alvarado, Texas on April 30, 1923 to John and Myrtle Wiggins. Fay was one of four children in the Wiggins household. Myrtle grew up with three brothers, one was Fay's twin. Fay is survived by her brother, Vernon Wiggins. Fay was preceded in death by her parents and two of her brothers, her twin Johnnie Ray Wiggins and Floyd Wiggins. Fay met and later married the love of her life, Roy Lee Jackson. They were married on October 9, 1940 in Alvarado, Texas. Together, they had four children, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Fay was a devoted wife, mother and "Nanny" to her grandchildren. Fay is survived by her sons, Eddie and Roger Jackson, both of Azle, Texas. Fay is also survived by her daughter, Pamalee Hodges of Azle, Texas. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Roy Lee Jackson, her son, David Lee Jackson and great grandson, Jonathan Jackson. Fay was a wonderful homemaker, where she was a very creative and talented cook and was known for always keeping a beautiful and warm home. Fay was also a very talented seamstress, making curtains and upholstery items and her embroidery was truly a work of art. Fay proudly supported the war effort in World War II, working as one of the Rosie the Rivetors at Convair in Fort Worth, Texas. Fay was a strong willed and determined woman, yet she was so gentle and kind. Her great physical beauty was only surpassed by her immense inner beauty. Fay accepted the Lord as a young lady and was baptized in the Alvarado river. Fay loved the Lord and she kept her faith throughout her life. Fay was a member of the First Baptist Church in Azle, Texas. Fay taught the Children's church there for many years with her daughter, Pamalee. Fay's family and many friends are greatly saddened by her passing, but they rejoice her new beginning in the Kingdom of Heaven and her reunion with her husband Roy and the family that passed before her.
