Nathaniel Howard Roof November 30, 1949 ~ December 23, 2017 Nathaniel Howard Roof went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 23, 2017. Nathan was born in Denison, Texas on November 30, 1949 to his father, John Cyrus Roof and his mother, Shirley Ann Moates. As a young man Nathan joined the United States Navy to serve his country. We are grateful to Nathan for the sacrifices he made to uphold our freedoms. Nathan was very proud of his service to our nation. Upon discharge from the Navy, Nathan moved to many different trades and finally found his calling in real estate. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his grandkids sports and the Texas Longhorns play football, spending time hunting or fishing, teaching high-school kids how to play tennis, sharing peppermints and butterscotch candies with his kids and grandkids and enjoying the memories that were made whenever the family was together. Nathan was a born again Christian and loved God wholeheartedly and enjoyed sharing God's love with others. Nathan is survived by his son, Jerad Roof; his daughters, Natalie Roof and Samantha Roof; his son, Daniel Roof; his daughter, Angie Remich; his grandchildren, Faith Emanuel, Kolten Forester, Ethan Tefertiller, Ella Tefertiller, Evan Tefertiller and Emery Tefertiller; his brothers, Ronnie Reese, Mike Roof, Jim Roof, Steve Roof, Doug Roof and Tony Roof; his sister, Trish Langford; his friend, Diane Alfino; along with many other loving family members and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley Roof; his brother, John Roland Roof; his sister, Rhonda Renee Roof; and his life-long partner, Judy Spencer. Though we are saddened by our loss of a wonderful father, grandfather and brother, our hearts are lightened by our knowledge of his return to an eternal home in the Kingdom of Heaven.
