Obituary

Patricia "Patsy" Hampton

1944 - 2023

Patsy Ann Hampton, born Patricia Ann Walden, passed over Jordan to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 6, 2023, surrounded by family. A celebration of Life service will be held to honor her memory on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the Roberts-Martinez Funeral Home, located at 4200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, Texas 76117. Visitation from 12:30-1:00 pm will be reserved for the immediate family followed by a public visitation 1:00-2:00 pm. The service will be at 2:00 pm.

Born in Vernon, Texas on October 25, 1944, Patsy was a longtime resident of Fort Worth, Texas where she frequently spent time with her family at weekly mealtime gatherings for great food, fun, fellowship, and games, especially Yahtzee. She was a champion player so some would say that she had an advantage since she would say a prayer each time before rolling the dice.

She loved celebrations including birthdays, weddings, and holidays such as Thanksgiving and especially Christmas, when she decorated every room in her house.

Being a talented artist, she had great decorating skills and style. She was also a musician, played the accordion and guitar, and a singer as well as a songwriter,  poet, and author. She recorded many songs and sermons throughout her ministry's career.

Sister Patsy began her ministry at age eighteen as a Sunday School teacher and was a full-time evangelist by age thirty. She was an anointed and gifted woman of God who operated in the five-fold ministry gifts of teacher, preacher, evangelist, prophetess, and apostle. She was a missionary overseas to the Philippines, Russia, Haiti, and India. She also held many tent revivals, pastored and established multiple churches in the United States.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Indiana Walden; her brothers, Edward and Arvel Walden; her son, David Horton; and daughter, Hannah Horton.

Survivors include: her husband, Ben Hampton; brother, Jimmy Walden (spouse Judy); daughter, Cindy Shipman; daughter Kathy Maddux (spouse Phillip); son, Sean Horton (spouse Michelle); son, Arvel (spouse Dusti); and daughter, Debbie Cooper. Stepchildren: John and Dave Tharp; Cory Seaman; Terry Simonek; Addy Cadwallader; and Aaron Hampton.
