1951 - 2023

Richard Hall Carroll Jr. (Ricky) entered eternal rest after a brief illness on September 21, 2023.  Rick was born August 29, 1951, to the proud parents of Richard and Vanita Carroll in Angelina County, Texas.  He attended Everman High School.  He grew up loving camping and fishing with his family, which he continued with his children.  Right out of high school, Rick voluntarily enlisted in the army and served our country in Vietnam.  He has always been a proud patriot.  After leaving the army, Rick returned to Fort Worth, where he would eventually meet and marry the love of his life, Brenda Scalf.  They would create a lifetime of memories living on a ranch north of Saginaw.  He was a hard-working father who led his family through firm leadership and respect.  He was a dedicated husband who would do anything possible to make Brenda smile.  His love for her was undeniably clear to all who knew them.  Rick is survived by Brenda, his wife of 43 years, children Richard Carroll III (Melissa), Harvey Carroll (Debra), Frank Carroll and Andrea Garrett (Steven), sister Jeanne Wright, brother Bruce Carroll (Mary), 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Vanita Carroll, longtime friend and brother-in-law Tommy Wright, and daughter Melissa Cranson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Roberts-Martinez Funeral Home beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
