Rick Watkins passed away peacefully on January 19, 2018 at the age of 57. Rick was born in Odessa, Texas on May 29, 1960 to his parents, Curtis Watkins and Norma Sue Jones-Sokup. A Celebration of Life will be held at Normandale Baptist Church at 10 A.M. on January 27, 2018 at 2001 Chapel Creek in White Settlement. Rick worked many years in the oil fields of New Mexico. He eventually returned to Texas and worked briefly at Six Flags of Texas and then started working at Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth. He retired in December of 2017, after 19 years of service. Rick wore many hats at the Lighthouse, but his last hat was as a Plant Manager Rick is survived by his wife of 21 years, Pearl Jo Watkins; daughters, Michelle Higgins, Nicole Garcia and Sierra Watkins; his grandchildren, Mari Olayo, Leticia Olayo and Jeremiah Staates. He is preceded in death by his parents Curtis Watkins, Norma Sue Jones Sokup; his siblings, Nola Watkins, Curt Watkins, Clinton Watkins, Kenny Watkins, Danny Watkins and Greg Watkins; and his beloved dog, Penny.
