Rita Gail Holt

1949 - 2023

Rita Gail Holt, adored mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2023. Born in Leesville, Louisiana, she worked for many years as a Registered Nurse.

Rita was the proud mother of two sons, David, and Vincent, and two grandchildren, Emily and Daniel, who she loved fiercely. She was a fantastic piano player, and devoted countless hours to play for the church and her family. She was also an excellent scrabble player and would give the best of them a run for their money. Rita was a proud Texan and enjoyed spending time at the zoo and park with her grandchildren. Her love of butterflies was displayed all over her home and on the accessories she wore. She appreciated her quiet time bird watching, reading poetry, and watching westerns. Rita also loved being out two stepping or listening to good Ol' Rock and Roll music.  She was a sucker for Johnny Depp and enjoyed engaging in conversation over a cup of creamer with a splash of coffee.  Above all, Rita was a God-fearing woman who had a heart of gold.

She was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, family, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on February 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Memorial Park.
