Robert Archie Townsend

1953 - 2023

Robert went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2023, in Haltom City, Texas after a courageous, nine-year battle with Cancer. He was born on March 13, 1953, to Archie and Jewel Townsend. He was a lifelong resident of Haltom City and a faithful member of Oak Knoll Baptist Church. Robert married his wife, Kim, on December 14, 1974, and together raised two beautiful daughters. Robert was a hard-working family man that was always willing to help others. He was blessed with four grandsons that he enjoyed spending his time with. Robert loved collecting coins, metal detecting, fishing at Lake Texoma, and watching the Dallas Cowboy's with his family. He was a fighter, never giving up no matter the diagnosis and never complaining about the hard battle he faced. He would always say how he loved his life and wanted to enjoy every moment with his family till the good Lord called him home; he did just that. Robert was and is an inspiration to us all. His strength and perseverance will always be remembered.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Archie; his mother, Jewel; and his son-in-law, Jose.

Robert is survived by his wife, Kim; his daughters, Melisa (James), and Melinda; his grandsons, Jacob, Jonathan, Luciano and Adriano; his sister, Linda; and other loving family members who he held dear.

A Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
