Obituary

Shirley Jane Kimberlin 1935 - 2016 Shirley was born April 18, 1935 in Harris Station, Tennessee to Cecil D. and Nina Mae Lenox-Adkison. Shirley grew up in the Adkison family with her sister Barbara Terrell, who now lives in Union City, Tennessee. Shirley's parents preceded her in death. Shirley passed away on January 24, 2016 and has returned to the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. Shirley met Yandell Kimberlin and later married him on October 30, 1952. They crossed the state lines into Mississippi so that they could be married, as at the time, Shirley was only seventeen. It was true love as they raised a beautiful family together. Shirley leaves behind a daughter, Vicki Boyd of Longview, Texas, a son, Alan Kimberlin and his wife Shelly of Springtown, Texas and a daughter-in-law, Jacqui Kimberlin. In addition to her children, Shirley leaves three grandsons and six grandaughters behind. They are Chad Johnston and his wife Melissa of Fort Worth, Brandy Mauldin of Haslett, Kourtney Summers of Garland, Jennifer Cain of Longview, Kelly Kimberlin of Azle, Cody Boyd of Longview, Alaina Dickinson of Springtown, Seth Boyd of Longview and Isabella Kimberlin. Shirley also leaves thirteen great grandchildren. Shirley spent the majority of her life taking care of people, whether it was her immediate family or the family that she created while working for Morgan Drive Away as a dispatch terminal agent. Shirley cared immensely for the drivers and the employees that worked there creating bonds with them over a thirty-five year period. Shirley was very proud of the fact she was not just a dispatcher but had spent years behind a wheel as a driver. Shirley's spare time, if she wasn't spending time with her family was usually spent outdoors either mowing or tending her garden, where she spent hours tending to her flowers. Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband Yandell, her son, Stanley Kimberlin and her great grandaughter, Shelbie Mauldin. While her entire family and friends are greatly saddened by Shirley's death, they are comforted to know that she is now reunited with her family that passed before her.
