Stanley H Hammell, born January 7,1947 and passed away peacefully in his home on October 15, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Stan will be greatly missed and loved by everyone. He will never be forgotten.
Stan was a Vietnam Veteran, where he served proudly in the United States Army. Stan grew up in the San Francisco area, where he later became a San Francisco Police Officer. During his time as a police officer, Stan was on the marksman team as well as the rowing team. He loved his work. He was very dedicated and gave his all to everyone he worked with. He took pride in all that he did. Stan was a respected by everyone who knew him.
Stan had many hobbies he enjoyed. He would build and race cars as well as build planes with his friends. He was also an avid Nascar fan! He loved to do woodworking in his shop. He would enjoy building amazing items for his family and friends. Stan was avid reader and also loved to scuba dive.
Stan was survived by his loving family that includes his wife, Dorothy Hammell; his sons, Joseph and wife Michele and Matthew Schleser; his grandsons, Joseph and Christopher Schleser; his brother, Ned Hammell and wife Donya; his aunts, Golda Fabian and Clara Leep as well as many other family members and friends.
Stan is preceded in death by his father, Bert; his mother, Stephanie Hammell along with cousin, Greg Blais.
