Stephen Charles Conroy

1962 - 2022

Stephen Charles Conroy was born to Paul and Janet Conroy in Dallas, Texas on January 3, 1962.  He passed away on October 20, 2022, in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Stephen, better known as "Papalo", always said his life was like a country song, a no shoes, no shirt, no problem type of man. Steve enjoyed being outdoors, especially when his time was spent hunting, camping or on the water, boating, water skiing and knee boarding. He always tried to take time to have adventures with his family and friends. Papalo was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game. Every Sunday, you could hear him cheering on his team as if the players themselves could hear him. After the game was over, he wouldn't talk about anything else until next Sunday's game.

Steve always lived his life to the fullest, he was said to have nine lives, but in recent years took a backseat to focus on what mattered most to him above all else, his family and his beloved granddaughter, Lotus or as he referred to her, "Lolo". He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Although he may be gone, he was never one to be easily forgotten.

Steve is preceded in passing by his parents, Paul and Janet Conroy; and his older brother, Kevin Conroy.

He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his 6 siblings, Kathi Jones, Patty Conroy, Michael Conroy, Tracyne Ashby, Daniel Conroy and Bernard Conroy; his two daughters, Amanda Conroy and Melissa Hudson; two step-daughters, Rebecca Martin and Krista Martin; one grandchild, Lotus "LoLo" Hudson; five step-grandchildren, Savannah and Jordan Alshebli, Jocelyn Bennefield, and Nova and Paisley Ledbetter; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Steve on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Diamond Jim's.

Services: 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Food: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Karaoke and Celebration of life: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
