A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Susan served as an Airman First Class jet engine mechanic and was recognized as an outstanding Airman Honor Graduate at her first duty station. After her military service, she excelled in various fields, becoming a successful phlebotomist known for her skill and compassionate care, earning multiple accolades and the Lab Corp Cash award for her contributions.

An adventurous spirit, Susan embraced life with passion. She loved riding her Harley Davidson and SCUBA diving, often seeking new experiences to fill her heart. While her career was important to her, Susan found joy in the simple pleasures of dancing to live music, reading, and painting ceramics. She cherished moments spent with her beloved companion, Link, traveling, attending concerts, and watching the Buffalo Bills and Sabres.

A remarkable conversationalist and friend, Susan was admired by colleagues at Kroger, where she contributed to the fuel center becoming the top performer in the region. Her dedication to her work was evident as she played a key role in the opening of several new locations. With a commitment to continuous learning, Susan approached her education with the same vigor she brought to her life, achieving a 4.0 GPA at both Abilene Christian University and Cisco Junior College.
