Tijerina

Teresa Tijerina
1956 - 2023
Teresa Martinez Tijerina, age 67, of Blue Mound, Texas was called to her eternal home to join her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 6th, surrounded by her loved ones. Teresa courageously battled liver disease for many years, with her husband of 41 years, Joe Alfred Tijerina Sr. by her side. Teresa was a loving daughter, aunt, wife, mother and friend, who leaves behind a long list of loved ones who will never be able to fill the void that her departure has left in our hearts. She will be remembered for her obnoxiously loud laugh, crazy sense of humor, and her unapologetic smothering of love that she freely gave to anyone who would let her. Teresa and Alfred's two children, daughter Terri Rose Tijerina (McGhee) and son Joe Alfred Tijerina Jr. were the light of her life. She gave everything that she had to her children, and loved them unconditionally to the very end. Her grandchildren, three boys and one precious girl, meant the world to her, and she absolutely adored having them around, filling her home with loud sounds of laughter and playful joy. Joe III, Ernest Amare, Stevphen and Arianna Rose held such a special place in their Wecca's heart; she was the absolute best Grandma in the whole world. Teresa was one of four children of Lawrence & Nancy Martinez; she was the baby of the family, surprising everyone with her arrival. She is now joining her big brothers, Lawrence Martinez Jr. and Aurelio (Earl) Martinez in heaven, along with her mother and father. Teresa leaves behind her beloved sister, Rosie Sena, who has lived her life side by side with her, through all the good and bad that life threw their way. Rosie was her only natural sister, but at the age of eight years old, her oldest brother Lawrence Jr. brought home a beautiful woman named Mary Ann, who formed a loving bond with her that lasted a lifetime, building a special sisterhood that Teresa treasured. During her 41 year marriage to the love of her life, Joe Alfred Tijerina Sr., she also gained several brothers and sisters that loved her immensely. She even found her "twin sister", Gracie Tijerina, who shared a birthday with her and became her twin flame in life. So many family members loved Teresa tremendously, and life just won't be the same without her fiery spirit. There aren't enough words to express what Teresa meant to her family; she was the flavor that spiced our lives; the silly that we all needed to smile; the light that kept us out of the dark. Teresa will be missed forever and that void will never be filled; but she gave us enough of her to keep with us until we meet again. We love you Momma, so very much, more than we can convey with words. You were amazing, kind, loving, fun, silly, playful, creative, forever a dreamer; I'm sorry that your life was cut short. We will live our lives for you, we will never forget you!
