Thomas Earl Thornton III

Thomas Earl Thornton III is known as a native to Fort Worth, Texas. He began this life on May 1, 1944 at John Peter Smith Hospital, just blocks from where he departed at Baylor Hospital Hospice, after a lengthy illness on November 29, 2016. He is the son of Thomas Thornton Jr. and Margie Black Thornton both from East Texas. He grew up early on the Northside of town where he attended Kirkpatrick Elementary, and later attended I.M. Terrell High School. His survivors include his daughter Nita and her four children, brothers Artist, Lawrence, Odine, Eddie B. and J.P. Thornton, his sister Rebecca Petty, and Margie Thornton, his mother, along with many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and cousins.
Thomas Earl worked with the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, City of Fort Worth where we remained a dedicated employee for nearly thirty years, until his retirement. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. He had many friends and he was a friend to all. He will be sorely missed.
