Tim Poston, 69, "One of the Good Guys," began his heavenly adventure February 15, 2016. A true romantic, it's no surprise he let go the day after Valentine's Day. Tim died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Four months ago he was diagnosed with a rare Stage IV liver cancer. Alternative treatments were showing promise until complications got in the way. Tim was born in Vivian, LA on Oct. 17, 1946. He grew up loving the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and track and field. Tim is survived by his wife, Libby (Elizabeth) Poston, whom he adored; Children: Kelly & Courtney Poston, children Nora, Liam, and "baby on-the-way", of Weatherford; Philippa High and partner Dale Morris Jr. of Watauga; Stacey High Arantes and daughters Fabiana and Sophia of San Antonio; Father, Coy Poston of Weatherford; Half-Sister, Lois Ann Dick, whom he was anxiously waiting to meet; and many other loving family members. Tim was preceded in death by his precious Mother, Merry Poston of Vivian, LA. Mr. Poston attended North Caddo High School, Northeast Louisiana and Northwestern State Universities, graduating with MS degrees in Criminal Justice and Geology. Tim spent 27 years as a College Professor and Department Chairman at Weatherford College. He built a strong Criminal Justice Department, the Law Enforcement Academy, served on community committees, started "Safe Halloween," and worked closely with area law enforcement agencies. Poston maintained accreditation as a Master Police Officer through the State of TX. "Boss" believed in "hands-on" learning. He was well known for his interactive field trips, competing with students in National LAE competitions, and developing mini-courses where students camped and studied in the Big Bend area. A Celebration of the Life of Tim Poston will be held Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at 1 pm in the backyard of his residence. Friends and family are invited to attend and are asked to bring a covered dish and a chair so that all can share a meal in Tim's honor.
