Vergil E. Cantrell June 23, 1946 ~ June 13, 2017 Vergil E. Cantrell, 70, of Fort Worth, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 13, 2017. Vergil was born on June 23, 1946 to Lester H. Cantrell and Mary Viola Freeman in Davis, Oklahoma. Vergil was retired from the United States Navy. He spent 20 years in active military service to his country. This included Seven tours in Vietnam and building Forward Operating Bases. Later in his career he taught military personnel to disarm bombs. After retirement Vergil spent his time employed with Elkins Hardware in Saginaw. Vergil is survived by his loving wife, Frances Jean Cantrell; sons, Michael Todd Cantrell, Robert W. Collins; and sister Alice B. Anderson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Mary Cantrell.
