William Herman Black 1932 - 2016 William Herman Black left this earth to be with our Lord and Savior on June 21, 2016. Bill will be dearly missed. Bill was born March 9, 1932 in Bertram, Texas to his parents, Herman Eshuie Black and Vida Viola Guess-Black. Bill was one of seven children in the Black household. Bill met and later married the love of his life, Vera M. "Bo" Thompson-Black on May 18, 1978 in Parker, Texas. Together, they built a wonderful and loving life for themselves, as well as their family. Bill spent most of his working years as a truck driver, but the true meaning to his life was being with his wife and family. We honor Bill's sacrifices that have been made to our wonderful nation as he served many years in the United States Army. Bill remained a humble servant to God, Family, and Country until his passing. Bill leaves behind his daughters; Brenda Elmore of Bowie, Texas; Donna Porter of Azle, Texas and Mary Pipes of Gainesville, Texas. Bill also leaves behind his granddaughters and grandsons; Candace Cather of Denton, Texas; Kristen Fulkerson of Bowie, Texas; Mandy Elmore of Paradise, Texas; Lena Roberts of Bridgeport, Texas; Sabrina Dillard of Denton, Texas; Eric Roberts of Weatherford, Texas and Virgil Jones of Crawford, Texas. Bill also leaves twelve great grandchildren; his sister, Nelda Parker of El Paso, Texas; along with many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Vida Black; his wife, Vera M. "Bo" Black; his great grandaughter, Makaila Bohn, his son-in-law, Rocky Elmore and five of his brothers and sisters. Bill may be in heaven now, but I know he is looking down at us with a big smile on his face saying, "Move Forward - make the best of life - and I'll see you soon." Goodbye, Bill, and God bless.
