William S. Dodd Jr. 1922 – 2020

William S. Dodd Jr. went to be with the Lord on February 3rd, 2020 in Haltom City, Texas. William was born on December 30th, 1922 in Sherman, Texas to his parents, William S. Dodd and Matilda Daniels-Dodd.

We honor William's sacrifice made to our great nation as he served in the United States Army Air Corps. Following his faithful service and honorable discharge, William began a long and successful career working for the railroad. He will be remembered as a good provider for his devoted wife, Clara until her passing in 2011, and his daughters, Carolynn and Lynn. William was extremely intelligent in many regards and enjoyed golf and other activities. He was a very dedicated Shriner and a Master Mason.

William is survived by his daughters, Carolynn Turner and Lynn Trussell; his grandsons, Brian Matthew Spradley and wife Tammy, Bradford Michael Spradley and wife Derenda, Derek Anthony Trussell and wife Billie, Steven Douglas Trussell and wife Jennifer; his great-grandchildren, Troy Michael Spradley, Tanner Montgomery Spradley, Marissa Guzman, Eric Guzman, Maygen Nixson and husband Jeramy, Abbigal Ollie Spradley, Tyler Andrew Trussell, Ashley Taylor Trussell, and Emerson Paige Trussell; his great-great-grandchildren, Ty and Joey Nixson; his sisters, Margaret Hamby and husband Jack and Nancy Dixon; his brothers, Dan Dodd and wife Donnie and John Dodd and wife Nelda; along with other loving family members.

William is preceded in death by his parents, William and Matilda Dodd; his wife, Clara F. Dodd; and his other brothers and sisters. His memory will remain in the hearts of his loved ones forever.

A visitation will be held on February 6th, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Birdville Church of Christ located in 3208 Carson St. Haltom City, Texas 76117.

Funeral Service will be held on February 6th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Birdville Church of Christ located in 3208 Carson St. Haltom City, Texas 76117

Interment immediately to follow at Laurel Land Cemetery located at 7100 Crowley Rd Fort Worth, Texas 76134.
