Ben De La Rosa went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday February 8, 2020. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.

Ben was born in Galveston, Texas on November 16, 1939. He was a Battalion Commander of the ROTC at Ball High School. Following graduation, he attended Southwestern Bible Institute in Waxahachie, Texas. Ben married Virginia Nell Wilson in 1961. He was a loving father to his five children while serving as a pastor and missionary in South Texas and Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Benny De La Rosa Sr. and Juanita Perez and sister, Mary Martinez.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia; his sisters and their spouses, Petra (Bill) Drumwright and Aurora Flores;  his children and their spouses, Steve De La Rosa, Paula Van Deventer; Marcelina (Manuel) Lozano, Daniel (Helen) De La Rosa, Dara De La Rosa (Marcus Hinojosa); his grandchildren, Paul Daniel (Lorena) Perez, Benjamin De La Rosa, Natalie Lozano (Travis) Trimble, Jeremy (Ashley) De La Rosa, Stephanie De La Rosa, John (Emily) Lozano, Christine Van Deventer, Valerie De La Rosa, Zachary De La Rosa, Chasity Hinojosa, Mario (Nicole) Lozano, Joshua De La Rosa, Sarah De La Rosa; and his great-grandchildren, Oliver Trimble, Kayden Manuel Lozano, Zander and Zane De La Rosa, Alicia De La Rosa, Isaac and Izayah De La Paz, River Pelky and Jace Van Deventer.
