Brenda Gail Jett PATERSON, 67, of Grand Prairie, TX, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 5, 2020, with her husband by her side, only days after her 44th wedding anniversary and 67th birthday, being born on September 21, 1953 in Dallas, TX to the late Margaret Fleming and Grady Jett. She had recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer only three weeks earlier.
Brenda met her lifelong partner and soul mate, Thomas Paterson, known as ‘Tommy,’ in 1974. They married on October 2, 1976 and shared 44 wonderful years together. As a couple, they lived ardently for each other.
Brenda had the most beautiful smile and laugh, her sense of humor and perfectly-timed witticisms brightening even the darkest day. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, video games, dogs, and reading, her absolute, lifelong obsession being books authored by Stephen King.
Her family will remember Brenda for her unconditional love and selflessness.
A woman of incredible humor, boundless creativity, inspiring toughness, and deep humility has gone to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Paterson, children: Chera Cox, Erica Brooks, Heather Dunton; Grandchildren: Taylor Keup, Connor Keup, Olivia Wilson, Kaden Wilson; Close Family Members, Linda van Nunen and husband David, Sydney, Australia, John Paterson, Jr. and wife Pam of Dallas, TX, Nancy Paterson Ward, Plano, TX; Favorite Sister-In-Law, Patricia Vaughn and husband Robert of Hickory Creek, TX, Lorraine Morris and husband Mitch of Frisco, TX; Nieces and Nephews, John Wilson Paterson, Kristina Sue Paterson, Megan Lee Morris, and Mackenzie Elizabeth Morris; and beloved pets, Caesar and Chinna.
A graveside service will be on Monday, October 12, 11:00AM, at Mountain Creek Cemetery, 2099 Hardy Ln., Grand Prairie, TX 75051.
