Esequiel Zapata, Jr., 49, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Esequiel, or as he was lovingly known, Zeke, was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 22, 1972.
Zeke was a hardcore Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys fan, supporting his teams no matter what the outcome. He had a big heart and was a friend to many. Although Zeke didn’t have children of his own, he loved all his nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jacinto O. Gomez, uncles Adam P. Gomez, Cruz Zapata, and Raymond Zapata, and aunt, Yolanda Ramirez.
He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Gomez Carrera, and stepfather, Noe Luna; father Esequiel Zapata, Sr.; brothers, Ruben Zapata, Marco Carrera, Ismael Carrera; grandmother, Josephine Gomez; grandmother, Elivra Garcia; uncles, Jacinto P. Gomez, Catarino Zapata, Jr., Robert Zapata, and Rudy Zapata; aunts, Emma Quiroga, Julie Silva, Mary Ann Torres, and
Stella Nunez; and numerous family members and countless friends whom he loved.
