Freda Myrl Foreman, 90, of North Richland Hills, passed away July 30, 2021, with her husband, Jim, by her side. She was born to the late Ellis M. (Hap) and Vela Hardin, on July 21, 1931, in Sterley, Texas. Freda was the eldest of four daughters and was preceded in passing by her sisters, Eunice Yvonne Dixson of Childress, Texas and Lucretia Ann McClanahan of Bowie, Texas. Freda is survived by her sister, Etta Holsted of Moore, Oklahoma.
Freda married Jim Foreman in 1955 in Borger, Texas where they lived for several years. Jim owned a motorcycle dealership and Freda worked as an operator for the telephone company. They soon relocated to Amarillo, where she and Jim decided to raise their family. Freda was a full time homemaker and raised three children despite her physical limitations from the effects of polio during her childhood. Jim and Freda moved to Colorado in the late 1970’s to transition into retirement and travel adventures. Freda’s desire to be closer to her family drew her and Jim to Oklahoma in the 1990s. Always a fighter, Freda faced the challenges of life and was a two-time cancer survivor. Their final move took Jim and Freda to North Richland Hills where they could enjoy the company and assistance of Lisa Harbour, their eldest daughter.
Freda is survived by her husband, Jim; their three children, Lisa Harbour, of Hurst; Dr. Stephen Foreman of Hellertown of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Kerra Foreman, of Colorado Springs; ten grandchildren, Jason, Matthew and Joshua Harbour, Joseph, Benjamin, Michael, Timothy, Neil and Jonathan Foreman, and Megan Foreman; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. The burial will take place at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family requests that people make donations in support of post polio syndrome research, in lieu of sending flowers.
