George Perry Whisonant II

George Perry Whisonant II passed away on November 4, 2021.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Laurel Land Memorial Park beginning at 2:00 PM.
George was born on November 28, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas to George and Lillie Whisonant.  He married the love of his life, Katherine, and together raised four children.  He was a proud Marine, serving two tours in Vietnam and receiving several medals for his courageous journey.  George was an avid fisher and chess and billiard player.  He was known as a "Jack of all trades," and could do any task he came to face, whether it be landscaping, gardening, or home repairs.  Generally, during all activities, he could be found with a good cup of coffee in hand.  George had a giving heart, and lived each day to serve his Lord.  He was a true family man through and through, cherishing each moment he spent with them.
George reunites with his wife, Katherine; parents, George Perry Whisonant Sr. and Lillie Fae Whisonant; sisters, Doris Fae John and Julie Hewell; and grandchild, Alex Chandler.
He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his children, Carol Ann Whisonant Smith, Jennifer R. Whisonant Smith, Thomas P. Whisonant and Timothy P. Whisonant; brothers, Charles R. Whisonant and David Whisonant; grandchildren, Ashley Shaw , Christopher Bird, Jennifer Shaw, Lauren Bird, Trevor Baker, Joshua Chandler, Allisabeth Chandler, Anthony Whisonant, and Emily Whisonant ; and ten great-grandchildren.
