Homer “Virgil” Buie Jr.
1944 – 2019
Homer Virgil Buie Jr. passed away on October 5th, 2019 in Arlington, Texas. Homer was born on April 20th, 1944 to his parents, Homer Virgil Buie Sr. and Verna Lucille Aarons in Dallas, Texas. After three years of fighting cancer, Virgil died peacefully within his home. In 1966 Virgil met the love of his life, Linda Johnston and on September 8th, 1967 they were married. Virgil was an early entrepreneur and ran several small businesses and drove semi-trucks for 47 years, until he retired to be home with Linda. Virgil had a life-long affair with fishing, giving lessons to anyone that would listen and Linda’s sheet cake. Virgil was a man that never cared much about himself and even in his final days he would say to his loved ones “just take care of “Nana” when Im gone”. Virgil was a strong patriarch of his family, a good friend to all, a man who would give his shirt for a friend. Virgil took extreme pride in his children. Virgil will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, Linda Sue Buie; his brother- in- law, Larry Holmes; his daughter, Becky Nichols; his granddaughter, Brittney Keenan and husband Chris; his granddaughter, Heather Fox and husband Gary; his grandson, Jay Clark and wife Ginger; his great grandchildren, Milo, Finn, Atlas, and Vivian; his soon to be great grandchildren, Dorian and Amelia; and many more loving family members and friends. Homer is preceded in death by his father, Homer Virgil Buie Sr.; his mother, Lucille Buie; and his sister, Mary B. Burgi.
A graveside service will be held on October 12, 2019 at Johnson Station Cemetery, 1129 W Mayfield Rd, Arlington TX 76015.
