Jerry Scott Hammonds of Garland, a loving uncle and truly one-of-a-kind man who wore the title of "Weirdo" like a badge of honor, passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 4th. There will be a celebration of Scott's life from 2-4:30pm on Saturday, August 19th at Texas Counter Fitters, located at 909 N Bowser Road, Richardson, Texas 75081.
Scott was a Navy veteran, stationed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from 1982 to 1986. He served aboard the USS America as an aviation electronic technician, where he learned the skills that brought him a long and illustrious civilian career in tech and hardware engineering.
In his personal life, there was not a man of greater breadth of talent. From metal music to metal working, Scott had truly expansive knowledge. He was a talented musician, a lover and collector of weaponry of all types, an accomplished photographer, and an unequaled role-playing and tabletop gaming enthusiast, who not only collected, played, and adored these games but invested in and designed them, too. He certainly loved his hobbies and hustles, but maybe most of all, he loved the female form, particularly boobs. One could say Scott and any local breast-aurant made a perfect pair.
He is survived by his sister, Laura Joplin, and her husband, Steve; his niece, Victoria, and his great-niece, Madison; his two nephews, Matthew and Shane; and a cadre of lifelong friends. Scott's family would like to extend a special thank you to Matt, Dave, Spencer, and his long-time boss, Scott Spencer, for their help and compassion during this very difficult time.
