Marie Miller Allen Gibson

1918 - 2022

Marie (Granny) Gibson, age 103, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed into God’s Loving Hands on Thursday, July 21, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born November 6, 1918, in Oklahoma, the daughter of Samuel and Elsie (Sanders) Miller.

Marie was a smiling cheerful person who liked people and loved to go places. She was the “driver” of the family and continued to drive to Church and Walmart until she was ninety. Marie enjoyed attending car races, crocheting and loved and cared for many cats and dogs throughout her life. 

Marie is survived by her beloved and devoted daughter, Frances Allen Downing, and husband, Ronnie Downing of Fort Worth; three grandchildren, Crystal, Tommy and Barbara; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Samuel William Miller, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; the Gospel Lighthouse Outreach Church of Fort Worth church family; her beloved Church Pastors, Bennie and Jeanette Dendy; and many other friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her dearly loved and cherished son, Roy Wade Gibson in 2017; her parents; first husband, Otis Pearl Allen; her husband, Roy Richard Gibson; granddaughter, Shelly; and twelve of her siblings.

A Memorial service will be held at the Gospel Lighthouse Outreach Church 2410 Warwick Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76106, at a date to be determined. Interment will be private.
